Bark for the Cure

The Komen Ozark Affiliate and Ultimutt Dog Care gearing up for the 2nd Annual Ultimutt’s Bark for the Cure!! The 2 mile Fun Dog Run/Walk is set for Thursday, October 27, 2011, at MARS. This event is for the entire family and ‘Frodo’ so grab the kids and the dogs and come help as we Bark for the Cure.

Registration is from 5:30, the race begins at 6:00 and awards after the race.

$20 early registration received by Oct 13; $25 registration received 10/14-10/27; $5 for each additional dog

Dog & Cat CPR Certification

The American Red Cross will be offering will be offering dog and cat CPR and 1st Aid Certification at Ultimutt Dog Care. This is a wonderful opputunity for all pet owners to ` take advantage of. The chance to learn a skill that could help save the life of a pet is something pet owners should not pass up.

The class will be from 6-9pm, and there will be drinks and snacks provided. This class is also available to kids of at least twelve years of age. This is a wonderful chance for kids to learn a skill that will be helpful to them their entire lives.

The class is $55 per person and all materials will be provided. Please register by Monday, May 9th.

Bark for the Arc

Saturday, May 14th

We're teaming up with The Arc for the River Valley for a Fun Walk to benefit their intellectual and developmentally disabled clients. The walk will be about a mile. You and your Ultimutt are invited to come and walk for this great cause! We'll have food, drinks, a police car, fire truck, balloon launch, massage chair, face painting and dog contests. The Arc is a great organization and Ultimutt is excited to team up with them to help sponsor this event! Mark your calendars! More details to come.

Dog Olympics

Events:

Ball Lottery - Dogs retrieve balls that have been numbered. The dog that collects the highest total wins.
Doggy Limbo - How low can your dog go? Find out in the Doggy Limbo. Dogs are split into groups of large (over 18”) and small dogs to shimmy under a bar.
Tail Wagging - Can you get your dog so happy that he'll wag his tail just from hearing the names of fruits and vegetables? Two teams line up on opposite sides of the ring with handlers facing their dogs and dogs' tails facing inward. The team with the best tail-waggers advances to a wag-off to determine the wagging champion.
Temptation Tower - In this race against the clock, you have one minute to stack as many biscuits as you can into a tower of tasty dog treats. But there is an added challenge! You must build this tower of treats in front of your dog! If your dog eats any of the biscuits, you and your dog will be eliminated from the game. If your tower falls down, you can rebuild until time runs out. The winner is the dog and handler team with the most number of biscuits in their tower!
You Can Dress ’Em Up Relay - How fast can you get your dog dressed? In the You Can Dress 'Em Up Relay, handlers and dogs race to a box of clothing, where dogs must be dressed in a t-shirt with one leg through each sleeve, a scarf and two socks. Dogs are then heeled back to the starting line to tag the next team member. The fastest team wins the heat. Elimination rounds will determine the final winners.

Humane Society 5K

Even if you have trained dogs before I guarantee this one is different and the puppy needs the experience even if you don't. need this learning environment during their critical development stage. If socialization during these stages is missed, some puppies will never be as successful as they could otherwise have been at fitting into your home and lifestyle.

Your pup can begin a lifelong love of going to dog events and gatherings that include other well-behaved dogs.
A great opportunity for a weekly outing with your puppy with the supervision of a skilled instructor.

You and your puppy develop a working relationship that enables you to safely take your new addition out for other social experiences and continued training.

Alzheimer's Memory Walk (with Dogs)

Ultimutt is the "Top Dog Sponsor" for the Alzheimer's Memory Walk this year on June 5 at Ben Geren Park. Registration is at 8 am and the 1 mile walk starts at 9:15. If you'd like to donate to this wonderful cause, please let us know. You can show up and walk with your dog ($10 per dog). We'll have door prizes, dog contests & prizes after the show. Paint the Park Pink is a Family Fun Walk designed for the whole family to enjoy. This 3rd annual walk will be held on October 17th at 9:00 AM at the UA FORT SMITH CAMPUS this year!
