Does my dog need to be spayed/neutered to come to Ultimutt? For daycare and boarding your dog must be spay/neutered after 6 months of age for their safety. For grooming, it is not a must but your dog will be kept separate.
-
What vaccinations does my dog need?Adult dogs need the Distemper, Rabies, Bordetella, and Influenza (this vaccine is optional) vaccinations yearly. Puppies must have all 3 rounds of Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella and then maintain the yearly shots as they get older. These shots are necessary to maintain a safe environment for all our Ultimutts. We must have proof of all vaccinations from a veterinarian in order to participate in any service.
-
What happens at the demeanor test?We take time to go over your information in the computer and any specific information regarding your pet. They will be introduced to a few new playmates to see how he/she will react to new friends. If they show aggression, we cannot allow them for daycare or boarding. You must have an appointment for a demeanor test. We offer these appointments Monday - Wednesday.
-
I have a small dog. Will it be safe?We have multiple dedicated areas for the small, medium, and large dogs indoors and outdoors.
-
My pet has special needs. Will this cost extra? No, medications and dietary needs will be handled at no extra cost to you. If your pet requires injections, please let us know at drop-off. If your pet requires medications (seizure medications, insulin, etc.) to be administered 12 hours apart, please get them on the 9:00 am and 9:00 pm schedule prior to their boarding appointment.
-
Do you offer services to older pets?We love offering grooming and spa services to pamper our older guests. However, daycare and boarding services are more suitable for Ultimutt's younger and more energetic dogs.
-
What is the fighting policy? The dogs are supervised at all times but unfortunately there is a fight every now and then. If your dog starts the fight, it will be separated from the other dogs and put in time out. If your dog tears the other dogs skin, its that owner's responsibility for the veterinary bill. The owner will be notified of their dog's action and will be warned. If it happens again, your dog will be expelled from coming back to Ultimutt.

It's my dog's first time at daycare. What do I need to do?Please make your demeanor appointment on your Gingr customer portal and upload vet records. My pet is going to board for several days. What do I need to bring? We ask that you bring their food and bedding. Please bring an extra day worth of food and medication in case your travel plans change. You may also bring toys or treats that will stay in their crates. We supply the crates and bowls. Please label everything you bring for your dog.
-
What if my pet becomes ill at Ultimutt? We will try to use your veterinarian if your pet is feeling under the weather. If that is not available, we will call you to see what you would like us to do. If you are not reachable, we will treat your dog as our own and ensure they get medical attention.
-
What's the boarding schedule for my dog?We offer daycare Monday - Thursday that is included in the boarding price. We come in early to let the boarders have some extra loving and to go out to potty. The daycare dogs start coming in about 7:00 am. We are inside/outside (depending on the weather) all morning playing. At lunch, we put the boarders and daycare dogs up for lunch in their individual crates. We give them a couple hours to eat, rest, and digest their food. They are out the rest of the afternoon playing with their friends. The boarders get put up about 5:00 pm and fed dinner. We close at 6:00 pm and are back before bedtime for another potty break and a bed time treat. On weekends we are here multiple times a day for a couple hours each time so they aren't in their crates very much.
-
I have different sized dogs that are boarding. Do big dogs cost more? No, it is the full price per night per dog for boarding no matter what the size of the dog is.
-
Why does my dog seem sluggish and/or grumpy after daycare or boarding? If your dog is not used to a lot of activity or exercise, he or she may be tired and have sore joints and muscles, just like a person who overdoes a workout after a long period of inactivity. Exercise is one of the benefits of doggie daycare, so you will notice the soreness is only temporary.
